CaSSoc
CaSSoc Carol Singing for Glanfield
There is an active Catholic Student Society (CaSSoc) which, whilst being very much a part of the life of the Chaplaincy is an independent student society affiliated to the Students Union.
They normally meet each Thursday of term in More House. Each term CaSSoc organises weekly events including speakers on various subjects together with social events. Their Constitution commits the society to providing a social, spiritual and intellectual programme for its members.
CaSSoc is known for its friendly welcome and has links with a whole range of other societies, some religious in nature and some not. Each year they have a major fundraising push for a chosen charity. Over the last three years they have raised over £1,500.00 each year for: CAFOD, The Granfield Group (which takes disabled and disadvantaged children and young adults to Lourdes) and an HIV/AIDS & Education Project run by the Medical Missionaries of Mary in Africa.
